Different kind of IT pro
Welcome to Huomio web site! My name is Lasse Ylinen and I am the owner of the company.
I like to know more than a name and a title of the people I do or aim to do business with.
I thought there must be other people like me and decided to write an introduction of myself.
Young entrepreneur, senior professional
My career passed recently the first ten-year milestone. Having had chance to work in so many different kind of projects and roles throughout those years is something I have always felt privileged of. That experience acts as the backbone of this business, Huomio Projects.
Reaching a level of seniority as a professional hasn't really affected my approach to life and work. It still feels often almost like I had just started. I think that the technology industry has also helped with that feeling. Work with IT is a on-going learning experience. And that's why I like it.
Emphasis in creating new, adding quality and efficiency
My innate curiosity has always kept me interested of everything new. It is also the reason why people have witnessed me working mostly with startups and developing new.
These three - innovation, quality and efficiency - are indeed the three key concepts connected to Huomio's business.
"New" doesn't mean to me only the latest gadgets and widgets. It is also finding new ways to do and see the already existing. From this comes also my interest to the concepts of quality and efficiency.

Unusual path in becoming IT pro
It was not at all clear from the beginning that I would spend my career with technology. Even though I have been working and playing with computers from very early on.
I have never been obsessed with the technologies itself.
I have just never been obsessed with the technologies itself. Rather than finding answer to the question "what is it" I have always been more tempted looking for responses to the question "what can you do with it".
This is also the why I chose to skip the degree in technology and went to study social sciences.
I made the decision not to feed my endless curiousity but to find new ways of thinking. I wanted to build up versatility and get better understanding of the environment we apply technology to.
I wanted to build up versatility and get better understanding of the environment we apply technology to.
My combination of having technological career and studies in social sciences is surely not the most common and obvious one but it has given me the ability to see things from a bit different angles.
It doesn't (unfortunately) mean that I would be immune with getting stuck with patterns and "how we have always done it"-ism. That is a challenge one needs to work constantly with. At least if you work with creating new and/or aim to improve.
Culture and exercise
People who know me knows that I always put "all-in" in order to find best solutions for my clients in their challenges. But believe it or not, there is life outside the work. My off-work passions are mainly related to sports and culture.
I am not sure actually whether there are many sports which I wouldn't enjoy either practising (or at least watching). So whenever I have chance I try to get my body moving.
Whenever I am not exercising it's quite likely you will see me enjoying culture in one form or another. I just love the kind of
bravery, creativity and open-mindedness which artists often have in their works.
I would love to see that more also in the corporate world.
